Vaganova Basics
Shape your body & mind to the fundamentals of Professional Ballet!
(This class faces the barre. There are many inexpensive at-home ballet barres for sale on Amazon that will suit this class perfectly.)
Both this class and Floor Barre (done the same day) will teach your body to have the ballet body, shape and technique most find a mystery. It all starts at the beginning and with these simple but vast ballet secrets all pros know and revert back to regularly!
What I (Ms. Sarah) personally love about these intros to Vaganova Method is that they are soundly, scientifically and anatomically catered to the human body (not the vice-versa of the human body being forced to form to ballet, which is an unhealthy approach), bringing out your individual and unique body's best, forming the ballet technique to human anatomy, and, most importantly, keeping it healthy and as free of injury as possible.
These classes are meticulous and slow, but VITALLY IMPORTANT to your lasting health in your ballet journey. So, bring your patience and your coffee!
These classes are done through repetitive exercises you will start memorizing from the very beginning, shaping your mind and muscle memory for the following over much time (The Pros use the knowledge of these classes throughout their training and entire careers!):
Your mind and muscle memory will learn to think like a pro via:
~Proper weight distribution for injury prevention, shaping the body to beautiful ballet lines and s-shapes (legs and feet), impressive balance and muscle work isolation.
~Slow, healthy and correctly aligned flexibility
~Awareness of body's inner axis balance within the core
~Muscle placements for peak posture, length and height (your chiropractor will love you)
~Combining muscle work with musicality for optimal performing dance movements (Ever said, "Yeah, you can just tell they're pros" around a dance floor? It starts deep in the muscles.)
~Precise and slowly intensified strength and training
~Simply put: shaping your muscles and body
~Thinking about your own body's ballet technique like the pros do (Owning it!)

Floor Barre
Stretch and Strengthening Class.
Needed: a comfy floor, a pillow, a yoga block couldn't hurt, in case! A small free space on one wall will be important as well.
(Same description for Vaganova Basics, as they are combined together in the same day.)
